Dr. Maxwell Anderson
Dr. Maxwell Anderson, August 26, 1956 – January 14, 2010, was a prominent activist for mental and transgender health issues for many years. He’s probably best known for his appearance in Southern Comfort, the documentary about Robert Eads. Dr. Anderson was a major part of the Southern Comfort Conference for over 20 years. His life’s passions have won him numerous awards including Best Picture at the Sundance Film Festival for Southern Comfort in 2001 and the IFGE Trinity Award. Max’s motto was, “No one gets left behind.” His passion for helping others and his lifetime of achievements have earned Dr. Anderson the Phoenix Award.
